Obituary of Frances Josephine Weiss

Peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Bobier Villa in Dutton, Frances Josephine Weiss (nee Schnekenburger) formerly of West Lorne passed away at age 92. Loving wife of the late Clayton Root (1945) and Joe Weiss (2003). Beloved mother of Don Root (Sue), Rosemary Uren (Herb), Jo-Anne Coughlin (Brian), Tom Weiss (Jan) and Deb McPherson (Jim). Loving Nana to Emily, Marnie, Tom, Gregory, Jordan, Simon, Jennifer, Danielle, Sarah, Amy, Karrie and Jessica as well as 16 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Trudy Swain and sister-in-law of Jessie (Root) Benford and Anne (Root) Gamracy. Predeceased by grand daughter Allison and siblings Marg Gillette, Ellen Sweitzer, Grace Plyley, Joanne Fordham, Skip Schnekenburger, Jim Schnekenburger and Mary Johnston. Fran became a resident at Bobier Villa in 1995 following a stroke that prevented her from returning to her home. Our family will be forever grateful for the professional care and infinite acts of kindness by staff during her stay at Bobier. Indeed many staff became her other family who during our times away, allowed each of us to have a sense of comfort knowing Mom was being well cared for and cared about. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF WEST LORNE 519-785-0810 on Friday, November 6th from 2pm to 5pm. Vigil Prayers will be prayed at 4:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 10:00 am at St Mary's Catholic Church, West Lorne with Fr Thomas Kuriacko officiating. Interment to follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
