Obituary of Allan William Watson

Watson, Allan

With sadness know that my beloved husband Allan Watson, born in Pefferlaw, Ontario, passed away suddenly on New Year’s Day 2021 after a five-year battle with cancer. Survived by his wife Gloria (nee Harrington) Watson, and his children: Silva Davison (Pete), Leana Watson (Dave), Robert Watson (Diane), his stepchildren: Maggie Cummings (Barry) Stan Cummings. Grandchildren: Tabi, Mandy, Jessie, Shannon, Samantha, Hunter, and step-grandchildren: Rowan and Delaney. Seven great grandchildren and cherished friends Mary-Lynn, Doug and Steacy Huff. Predeceased by: the mother of his children, Val (nee Urbansky) Watson, his parents Frank and Muriel (nee Greenwood) Watson. His brothers: Harold, Richard Watson and sisters Marie and Mabel.

All were held close in his heart.

He had an illustrious career of 37 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, achieving the rank of MWO. Serving with the PPCLI and the QOR. Finishing his career with Admin Branch. Postings to Calgary, Victoria, Germany, Cyprus, Kingston and Gagetown. He was well respected and held in high esteem to all that worked for him and with him.

For the last forty years he was an active member of the Legion, an avid gardener and a long time Nascar fan.

He was a kind man and special to all that knew him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sharma, the VON and West Elgin Pharmacy for helping us during the time of his illness.

As per Allan’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Denning’s of Rodney. Share a memory or condolence online at www.westelginfuneralhome.com.
